Tate Farms suffered significant loss in Sunday morning fire

The animal barn was a complete loss

MERIDIANVILLE, Ala. (WZDX) - Tate Farms suffered significant loss early Sunday morning from a fire on the property. Posted on the group's Facebook page, "We have sustained a total loss to our animal barn and part of our playground tonight."

The sheep and alpacas were rescued. The pigs were not able to be saved, according to the post.

Tate Farms is a family-owned pumpkin farm in Meridianville.  They host school field trips and corporate events starting in late September.

We're told they plan to rebuild quickly and will not cancel any events.

"Although as a family we are in shock and heartbroken we trust in our God who will provide. He has given us a new slate and we will rebuild better than before," owners write on Facebook.
