Huntsville firefighters keep busy in overnight hours

Man escapes fire thanks to observant passerby

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A North Huntsville man is crediting a passerby with saving his life today following one of two early morning fires that occurred on Friday.

Jimmy Adams, of 4222 Eastland Drive tells WZDX that he was awakened by a neighbor who apparently noticed flames coming from his home. Adams was able to get out safely.

Huntsville Fire and Rescue were able to contain the fire to the rear of the home

The home did suffer significant damages as a result of the fire.

Meanwhile, Huntsville Fire and Rescue also responded to a home at 2201 Evans Avenue. Upon their arrival they found an RV parked in the driveway of the home fully engulfed.

The RV suffered significant damages.

No one was injured in either of the incidents.

Causes of both incidents remain under investigation.
