Healthy Huntsville initiative kicks off at HudsonAlpha

HudsonAlpha workers join city's health initiative

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville is still making an effort to get the Rocket City healthy!

Wednesday, folks at HudsonAlpha walked just over a mile, as part of Mayor Tommy Battle's Healthy Huntsville initiative.

HudsonAlpha's Rick Meyers, CIty Administrator John Hamilton AND HudsonAlpha' s employees also walked the institute's famous Double Helix path, in Cummings Research Park.

"Our genetics help contribute to how healthy we're going to be, but so does the environment and part of the environment is exercising eating good food doing things in our lifestyle that help us live healthier and more sustainable lives," said Rick Meyers.

The Mayor's Walking Challenge encourages residents to walk 100 miles in 100 days.
