Handguns stolen from Athens pawn shop

An estimated 50 guns were stolen in an overnight burglary

A window was broken out of Bradford's Jewelry and Pawn on South Marion Street in Athens overnight.

The business is taking inventory, but it is believed that approximately 50 handguns were stolen.

The Athens Police Department has asked the ATF to assist in the investigation.

It is believed the break-in happened Monday morning between 12 midnight and 1:50 am.

The Athens PD asked anyone with any information, or who may have seen anything suspicious, to call 256-233-8700.
