Buffalo Wild Wings hosts grand opening in Athens

ATHENS, Ala. - Buffalo Wild Wings in Athens is officially open.

A line wrapped around the building Sunday night into Monday afternoon as folks waited, hoping to be one of the lucky customers to get a one-year, free wings pass.

Some had been out waiting since Sunday evening.

One customer, was in line simply to get wings and discovered his high school football jersey and other memorabilia were on display.

The customer is a junior at East Limestone High who suffered a career ending injury last year.

"I just think it's really cool I didn't even notice until I walked in here that was my old football jersey from last year. I don't know it's just really neat, " said Matthew Martin.

Martin played linebacker for East Limestone.

He says he was honored to see his old jersey while he was out for buffalo wings.

The new location is located at HWY 72 and Lindsay Ln.
