A "Day with Decatur Police" begins Thursday

Decatur Police officers plan to engage community via social media

DECATUR, Ala. - A day with Decatur Police kicks off for the second year Thursday.

Police officer's will be giving the public an in-depth look at what happens behind the scenes.
 
Officers will engage, via social media, with the community.

Folks will get to find out what happens when officers are called out to a call and ask questions throughout the day.

"Every call we get wherever we go we will be posting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We'll so some questions throughout the day that people may be curious about," said Emily Long.

Day with Decatur Police begins December 7 and will last 12-hours.
 
Social media engagement is expected to get started around 7am.
