Roy Moore & Luther Strange will meet in run-off election

Democratic candidate Doug Jones has his party's nomination

The next step in filling the Senate seat left vacant by Jeff Sessions is the Primary Election run-off on September 26, 2017.

Democratic candidate Doug Jones has won his party's nomination outright, and there will be a run-off between Republican candidates Roy Moore and Luther Strange.

The August 15th election drew low voter turnout of about 18%. However, this did beat the Secretary of State's prediction of turnout as low as 10-15%.

According to the Secretary of State's website, there are 3,330,802 registered voters in Alabama.
