Mo Carter, Sports Director for WZDX News

Mo Carter is an award-winning sports journalist, born and raised along the bayous of Napoleonville, Louisiana.

Being actively involved in church at an early age, allowed Mo to become very comfortable when speaking to large crowds.

During his career, Mo has won several AP awards and covered some top notch sporting events.

Some of those events include numerous SEC Championships, BCS Bowl games, the 2012 NCAA Final Four and Super Bowl XLVII.

Mo's collegiate career began at Nicholls State where he played defensive back. He transferred and played that same position at Southern University, where he received a degree in Mass Communications. After graduating in 2009, he joined the WAFB sports team in Baton Rouge. Shortly afterwards, he moved on to KALB in Alexandria where he started as a sports anchor and was later named the sports director.

He then moved to Alabama in 2013, where he led the sports team at Alabama News Network. There he quickly learned how intense the Auburn-Alabama rivalry is.

Mo is excited to be here in the Tennessee- Valley. When he's not at work or attending sporting events, Mo enjoys spending time with his beautiful newlywed wife Lakeshia, speaking to youth groups, working out, and attending church services. He also is member of NABJ and the Southern University Alumni Association - Huntsville Area Chapter.

He is a huge fan of Louisiana sports teams – New Orleans Saints, Southern Jags and the New Orleans Pelicans.
