Youth football camp at Albertville High School

Chip English and the Albertville Aggies hosted a youth football camp on Monday.

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. — A field that is home to high school talent in Albertville…has some youthful looking tenants for a few days.

“Well any time you get the opportunity to work with your future football players you want to do that,” said Chip English, Head Coach of the Albertville Aggies.

Some closer to the high school level than others…the participants ranging from kindergarten to sixth grade.

“We have a great youth program here,” English said. “Albertville has done a great job over the last several years of cultivating an atmosphere of football. They have a great turnout every year. And to provide them with a youth football camp before they start their season, just like the high school level, is vital.”

Chip English is the new guy in town…gearing up for his first season as head coach of the Albertville High School football team. And an event like this camp helps him see the strong cohesion that this school maintains.

“There’s a lot of variables that go into winning,” English said. “When you have everybody willing to be the best they can be to represent their variable for that success, good things happen. That’s what I’ve experienced so far here. From the top down. From our central office to our administration here at the high school. To our community with events like this, everybody wants to be involved and everybody wants to help which is encouraging. It’s a great way to connect. Albertville is a big city with a small-town feel. Allows us to keep it that way.”
