School and business cancellations and changes for Wednesday, March 30

Some North Alabama schools are changing their schedules on March 30 due to the threat of severe weather.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Some North Alabama schools are changing their schedules on Wednesday, March 30 due to the threat of severe weather.

Colbert County Schools: All after-school activities including 21st Century After School are canceled today, March 30th, 2022. Stay safe and weather-aware. 

Decatur City Schools: All Decatur City Schools activities, including Extended Day, will end at 5:00 p.m. today, March 30.

Madison City Schools: All extracurricular activities after 5 p.m. are canceled.

  • Mental Health Summit at Bob Jones Highschool has been rescheduled to Monday, April 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Huntsville City Schools: Huntsville City Schools (HCS) is closing all facilities today at 5 p.m. due to the threat of severe weather. Extended day, athletics, extracurricular activities, and any on-campus events will end at that time. Buses will operate on a normal schedule.  

Northwest Shoals Community College: MUSCLE SHOALS & PHIL CAMPBELL, ALA. -- Due to the threat of severe weather in Northwest Alabama, Northwest-Shoals Community College will close both campuses at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.  

Huntsville Ice Center: Early Rink Closure - Wednesday, March 30, 2022
Due to the threat of severe weather the Huntsville Ice Sports Center will be closing today at 4:30pm. Last activity of the day will be Freestyle session from 3:30-4:30pm. 

No evening programs/events today, Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Normal operations resume on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Huntsville Parks & Rec.:All Huntsville Parks & Recreation activities scheduled for 6 p.m. or later have been canceled. Recreation centers will maintain regular hours of operation.

Huntsville Transit: Huntsville Transit will suspend operations at 8 p.m. The last bus will leave the downtown transit station at 7 p.m.

City of Huntsville departments have announced changes to evening activities due to the threat of severe weather this evening.

Madison Parks & Rec: ALL FACILITIES CLOSING AT 6:00PM

Due to the threat of severe weather, all Madison Parks and Recreation facilities will be closing at 6:00 pm today, March 30. This includes all activities at Dublin and Palmer Park.
