UPDATE: Suspect arrested in PNC bank robbery case

The robbery was reported just after 3:00 p.m. at the PNC Bank on Country Club Ave.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — UPDATE:

The Huntsville Police Department has charged 50-year-old Ronald Paul Horner Jr. with Robbery following an incident on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 2004 Country Club Ave.

Horner was located and taken into custody in the area of Oakwood Ave and Memorial Pkwy around 2pm by HPD Violent Crimes Investigators, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI North Alabama Violent Crimes Task Force.

Horner is currently being booked into the Madison County Jail for the listed charge.

There is no information to believe this investigation is related to any other robbery investigations. The investigation is ongoing.

HPD Investigators are still actively working on the case. At this time, it is now believed only one individual was involved in the robbery at 2004 Country Club Ave on Wednesday.

Investigators believe the suspect handed the teller a note and gave the teller reason to believe he was possibly armed.  No weapon was ever seen by bank employees. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Investigators are working to speak with a person of interest.

We have no further details and no video to release. The investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators say there are three suspects, but there are no descriptions at this time. No injuries have been reported.
