COVID-19 vaccine will be available for all eligible Alabamians, ADPH says

Most vaccine candidates require two doses at a certain time interval.

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — The Alabama Department of Public Health has announced that an initial supply of a COVID-19 vaccine could come to Alabama as soon as mid-December.

ADPH said healthcare providers and chronically-ill individuals will have first access to the vaccine. As soon as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration confirms a vaccine is safe and effective and once and emergency use authorization is received, vaccine kits will be shipped out to several locations state-wide, according to ADPH.

The initial vaccine treatment will be available to every American without charge, ADPH said. Most vaccine candidates require two doses at a certain time interval.
