This week's Top Teacher is Mrs. Sarah Frazier of Mountain Gap Middle School

Happy Top Teacher Tuesday everyone! This week I have the privilege to highlight the Director of Bands, Mrs. Sarah Frazier, of Mountain Gap Middle School.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The band at Mountain Gap Middle School is led by Sarah Frazier - our newest Top Teacher.

Laurel, a band student, said, "Band is honestly the best part of my day, it's a break from everything else, and she just works really hard to make sure we all have fun parts to play in our music, and that were all being challenged and learning something."

Students, parents and administrators all say the same. Mrs. Frazier is one of a kind.

Mountain Gap Middle Principal, Heather Bardwell, had this to add, "It's hard to put into words. Mrs. Frazier is so organized; she has a great love for her students. She has a love for her content. She really does want to make her students the very best they could be. Not just now, but in the future and now just musically but really overall."

Mrs. Frazier has been teaching middle school band for 18 years - and she says there's no place that she'd rather be.

When asked, "What advice would you give to a teacher just starting their career?" Frazier replied with, "Worry more about taking care of kids and making them feel loved and safe because the academics will follow when its time."

Her love for band and shaping the next generation started when she was a young child.

"As I went through high school band, and college, I just I loved it. I loved being in a band room, I loved all these people making music. I loved being in rehearsals all day, and I just want to make sure that the kids I encounter can get that experience.", says Frazier.

Congratulations to Mrs. Sarah Frazier for being chosen as the Valley's Top Teacher.
