Coach Orr is the Valley's Top Teacher

Tommy Orr teaches history at James Clemens High School.

MADISON, Alabama — Congratulations to Tommy Orr for being chosen as this week's Valley's Top Teacher.

Mr. Orr teaches history and coaches baseball at James Clemens High School in Madison. Juggling time between his family, teams, and students can be difficult but Coach Orr will always make time to lend a helping hand.

Jalen Aklin, a world history student says, "Coach Orr he's a great teacher, a great coach, he helps a lot of people who need the help like he's helped me all this semester and stuff with the stuff I needed help with."

Administrators have taken notice of his hard work too.

"He's a very busy man and so he's always on the run but he never hesitates to stop and talk to me and ask how I'm doing, how are things going," Vice Principal Jennifer Flanagan said. "He always has a smile on his face, I've never seen him in a bad mood."

Coach Orr is the kind of teacher that you never forget. His passion for his job and his students stands out. When he found out about the kind things that everyone said he got emotional.

Coach Orr has a special message for his students, "Just keep up the good work, they come in with a good attitude each and every day and I really believe that when you work hard and you have a good attitude good things will happen to you."
